Chill out: book now for heating and cooling workshop

Book your spot now for the ‘HVAC Heating and Cooling Load Calculations’ training course scheduled to take place Cape Town and Johannesburg in April 2017. There are two CPD points up for grabs.

HVAC&R load calculations require time and attention to detail. This interactive workshop will provide a networking opportunity for contractors who rely on various rules of thumb to determine the sizes of the cooling systems to be installed to find resolutions for real situations.

Right-sizing the HVAC&R system begins with an accurate understanding of the heating and cooling loads. The values determined by the heating and cooling load calculation process will dictate the equipment selection and duct design to deliver conditioned air. The consequences of choosing the wrong-sized system can lead to noisy operation, have the inability to keep people comfortable, can fail to maintain proper moisture control and the system can break down or even fail.

This two-day workshop is designed to equip you with the expert experience of mastering the techniques of calculating loads to ensure the right sizing, design and reaching peak operational efficiency. This will further help with identifying, troubleshooting and solving common problems in HVAC&R systems and covers how to take corrective action to reduce energy consumption.

The workshop, offered by Global Prospectus, will provide specialised knowledge of current practices which go into calculating loads for new projects and improving existing systems. It is accredited and registered by the Engineering Council of South Africa through the South African Asset Management Association (SAAMA).

The workshop dates are as follows:

  • Cape Town, 6 to 7 April, Strand Tower Hotel
  • Johannesburg, 10 to 11 April, Global Prospectus Training Centre in Randburg

Speaker profile
The workshop will be led by Gregory Robert Logan Scott, owner and operator of Vasbyt Solutions. He supplies electrical, mechanical and thermodynamic solutions to unique situations, specialising in energy savings and running cost reduction making healthy and green environmental options affordable. He has been in the HAVC&R field for more than 23 years and has worked all over the world.
